Top School

Every year Hukerenui school hosts the Top School competition.  Up to 14 different teams of intermediate aged children enter from around Northland schools.  During the day students compete in a variety of activities where both their stamina and team work skills are tested.  Other Gala type activities are also available, where spectators can also join in the fun.  A sheep and pig are cooked on a spit for everyone's enjoyment and a BBQ, Mrs Whippy and Cafe food are also available.

Schools are also invited to enter Cheerleading teams.  Where the individual teams support their top school team throughout the competition.  At the conclusion of the games it is their opportunity to perform for the audience and they are judged on their overall performance.

Hukerenui School is actively part of many other activities throughout the year.  These range from an annual Agricultural Day, through to Cross Country, Athletics Days, Winter and Summer Sports days, etc.  As a school we pride ourselves on being actively involved in a variety of events for all children to be a part of.
