Enrolment Scheme/Zoning
The Ministry of Education has established an Enrolment Scheme at Hukerenui School which comes into affect from 1st January 2025. All students who are enrolled and attending before 1st January 2005 are considered 'In Zone'.

Hukerenui School is delighted to accept student enrolments of Year 0 to Year 8 students based on the following criteria;
· The student ordinarily resides in our enrolment zone at the time of their entry to our school
· The student has reached their fifth birthday
· The student is entitled to receive free state education in New Zealand (by way of NZ or Australian citizenship, permanent NZ residency or a valid NZ student visa)

Please make an appointment with the Principal to discuss your child's enrolment.
Before your child’s enrolment is completed we will need to sight the following original documents;
· An original birth certificate or passport
· For non-NZ or Australian citizens, proof of permanent residency or a valid NZ student visa
· An immunisation certificate (if the student is immunised)
· Proof of your residential address (We require 2 forms of proof, usually a bond lodgement letter or sale and purchase agreement PLUS a recent utility bill). This will be needed when you originally submit enrolment details AND at the time of your child’s entry to our school.
Out of Zone applications;
If you are living outside of the school’s zone, it is only possible to secure a place at the school if there is a vacancy.
